Citronella is a Single Essential Oil whereas Shield Me is a Synergy Essential Oil comprising Citronella, 100% pure, undiluted essential oils of Citronella, Grapefruit Pink, Geranium Bourbon, Rosalina and Patchouli.
Both are KidSafe, and both are good for when outdoors or seasonally to help ward off annoying bugs, as well as to support a healthy respiratory system.
Either option is excellent for the entire family - KidSafe does not mean less effective for adults. It just means that the particular Essential Oils have been determined by Plant Therapy to not affect or interfere with the development of kids 10 and below in age at a stage when their bodies are still growing.
Either Essential Oil can be diffused, or diluted in a Carrier Oil of your choice before applying to exposed parts of the body.
Between May and September each year in Singapore, it could be a good idea to diffuse Citronella or Shield Me if your home is located in higher risk areas, and applying these Essential Oils pre-diluted before leaving the home.
